Gilgit-Baltistan authorities have categorically denied rumors circulating on social media alleging unrest and security issues in the region. Rejecting such claims as false and baseless, the government reassured both domestic and foreign tourists that Gilgit-Baltistan remains peaceful, stable, and fully welcoming to visitors.

Addressing recent misinformation on social media platforms that conditions in Gilgit-Baltistan deteriorated following the observance of Ashura, Special Assistant for Information Iman Shah strongly denied these allegations. She emphasized that the region’s overall environment is completely peaceful, with normal life continuing uninterrupted across all districts.

Iman Shah further stated that the region was entirely peaceful throughout the days of Ashura, without any reports of disturbances or security breaches. Calling these unfounded reports an intentional attempt to harm tourism, damage the economy, and tarnish Gilgit-Baltistan’s international image, she assured the public that security conditions are fully stable, with all tourist destinations open and actively welcoming visitors.

The local administration, along with security agencies and tourism departments, remains vigilant, fully alert, and committed to ensuring the safety, comfort, and convenience of tourists. Shah urged both domestic and international visitors not to pay attention to false and unverified information, inviting them instead to experience Gilgit-Baltistan’s renowned hospitality, serene atmosphere, and natural beauty.

In her message, the special assistant also requested social media users and the general public to verify the credibility of news before sharing it, thereby playing their part in eliminating misinformation and negative propaganda.

The statement of assurance was endorsed by the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Office of the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, Tourist Police Gilgit-Baltistan, and Commissioner Diamer-Astore Division, reiterating the collective commitment of the administration and law enforcement agencies to maintaining security, peace, and positive experiences for all visitors.
