Islamabad/Peshawar, November 19, 2025 — The Higher Education Commission organised a two-day capacity-building and follow-up session on Higher Education Statistics at the HEC Regional Centre Peshawar to strengthen data systems across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa higher education institutions.
The session was led by the HEDR Division and focused on boosting the technical skills of focal persons so they can produce reliable and consistent Higher Education Statistics for 2023–24 and 2024–25. Trainers emphasised procedures to ensure timely submission and standardised reporting across universities and their affiliated colleges.
Dr. Bashir Khan, Incharge HEDR Division, described reliable and timely data as the backbone of effective planning and policy formulation. He urged institutions to adopt a modern, integrated, and data-driven approach to strengthen the higher education system and support evidence-based decision-making.
The first day concentrated on affiliated colleges data, with the HEDR team providing individualised technical assistance and on-the-spot troubleshooting. This hands-on approach helped participating HEIs identify outstanding areas, clarify reporting requirements, and accelerate the completion of pending returns.
The initiative has noticeably strengthened institutional capacity for data management and reporting, reinforcing HEDR Division’s commitment to enhancing the National Higher Education Statistics Framework and improving the quality of Higher Education Statistics across Pakistan’s higher education sector.
