ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR, July 16, 2026: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) organised an orientation session on the HEC Research Journals Policy for editors, researchers and faculty members from higher education institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the HEC Regional Centre Peshawar.
The session commenced with an overview of the HEC Research Journals Policy, covering journal recognition criteria, evaluation mechanisms, quality benchmarks and best practices in academic publishing.
The orientation session emphasised the importance of editorial transparency, peer-review standards, publication ethics, plagiarism control and indexing requirements for improving the quality and impact of research journals.
Resource persons briefed the participants on recent developments in HEC’s journal evaluation framework and shared practical recommendations for enhancing journal performance and visibility.
The interactive session enabled participants to discuss challenges faced by academic journals and seek expert guidance on policy implementation and journal management.
