At the special invitation of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Aurangzeb Khan, a high level team of the Higher Education Commission visited the University of Lakki Marwat to review its academic, research and development activities.
The HEC delegation was led by Dr Yasmeen Sagu of Foundation University and included Assistant Director Amir Manzoor, Dr Imran Marwat of the Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, QA Director Irfanullah, Dean Prof Dr Rehmatullah Qureshi of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Dr Arif Nadeem of the National Skills University, and Dr Mehdi Hassan of Air University.
University of Lakki Marwat Registrar Dr Mehd Jahangir, Controller Examinations Dr Mir Ahmad Khan, Treasurer Muhammad Bilal Afridi, Director Academics Dr Zahir Shah, Project Coordinator Engineer Muhammad Shuaib, and Town Campus Coordinator Fasihuddin were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the delegation inspected the university’s teaching, research and administrative departments in detail. The team also reviewed the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, modern laboratories, central library, classrooms, research centres and other academic facilities, while closely observing the available infrastructure, teaching environment, research activities and student support facilities.
The delegation further inspected the buildings under construction and ongoing development projects at the university and obtained information about the quality of work, progress and future development needs.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Aurangzeb Khan gave the HEC team a detailed briefing on the university’s academic, research and administrative performance, ongoing development projects, faculty capacity, student facilities and future development vision. He said the University of Lakki Marwat is continuing practical efforts to promote quality higher education, effective research, innovative thinking and a modern teaching system, with HEC guidance and support helping strengthen the institution further.
The HEC delegation expressed satisfaction with the university’s ongoing academic and research activities, available facilities, administrative discipline and development projects, and appreciated the efforts of the administration. The team also presented useful suggestions for further improving education quality, promoting research, strengthening industry and institutional linkages, and improving the basic infrastructure so the university can gain a more prominent place among leading national universities.
At the end of the visit, the vice chancellor and the HEC delegation held detailed discussions on the promotion of higher education, research collaboration, institutional development, improvement in education quality and areas of mutual cooperation.
