Support for the activity came from Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood, Incharge Female Campus, Dr. Inam-ul-Haq, Director Administration, and Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, Student Advisor, who noted that such campaigns contribute to climate change mitigation, protect biodiversity and enhance the appearance and health of campus spaces.
Under the supervision of Dr. Sidra Aman Rana, Batch 29 students carried out the planting of 14 species as part of the plantation drive, including periwinkle, basil, jasmine, Aloe vera, marigold and a selection of seasonal flowers. Planting locations included the department’s main lawn and the area outside Gate 3 of the Shared Block, chosen to maximize visibility and long-term benefit for the university community.
At the close of the event Dr. Inam-ul-Haq led a short quiz for participants and announced certificates of appreciation for students who showed notable involvement. The Department of Environmental Science expressed gratitude to university administration as well as horticulture and estate management teams for their logistical support in making the plantation drive successful.
