IMCB I-8/3 honours SSC high achievers at prize distribution ceremony

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) I-8/3 held a prize distribution ceremony to honour students who secured more than 1,000 marks in the FBISE Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2026.

The ceremony recognised the academic performance of the college’s top students, with Hamdan Shamshair securing 1,073 out of 1,100 marks. He obtained the first position in the college and also stood first among all boys’ institutions working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

Other high achievers included Suban Shamshair, who secured 1,058 marks and stood second in the college, Abdul Wasay, who obtained 1,031 marks and secured third position, and Muhammad Sheesh, who scored 1,019 marks and stood fourth.

The students were presented with shields, appreciation certificates, Chromebooks and bouquets in recognition of their performance. Hamdan Shamshair was awarded a cash prize of Rs20,000, while the students securing second, third and fourth positions received Rs10,000 each.

Addressing the ceremony, IMCB I-8/3 Principal Prof Shahid Mahmood Abbasi congratulated the students on their success and appreciated the dedication and hard work of the faculty members. He said the collective efforts of students and teachers had enabled the college to achieve a historic 99 per cent pass rate and a GPA of 3.97, the highest in the institution’s history.

He said academic excellence, discipline and commitment to quality education remained the hallmarks of the institution, and encouraged students to continue striving for higher achievements.

Parents attending the ceremony appreciated the college administration’s efforts to recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of students. They described the event as an inspiring initiative that encouraged students to pursue excellence in their academic careers.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates amid applause from parents, teachers and students, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to educational excellence.
