Imrana Returns from Netherlands Exchange, Leads Community Awareness Initiatives in Balochistan
Returning enriched with expertise from a three-month exchange program in the Netherlands, Imrana has swiftly begun to positively impact her community in Balochistan by addressing key social issues such as gender-based violence, early child marriage, and climate change’s toll on mental health.
Upon her return to Turbat, Balochistan, Imrana immediately took on the role of a local advocate, striving to apply the valuable knowledge and skills she acquired during her educational experience abroad. Recognizing the urgent local need in Turbat—an area significantly affected by extreme heatwaves, with summer temperatures regularly climbing to nearly 50°C—she focused her efforts particularly on the often-overlooked aspect of climate change: its deep impact on mental health.
In one of her impactful initiatives, Imrana conducted an interactive awareness session in the community of Dasht, Turbat, where she facilitated meaningful discussions on gender-based violence and early child marriage, highlighting their detrimental effects on mental health.
