Azima Dhanjee, CEO and Co-founder of ConnectHear, recently met with Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to deliberate on the advancement of inclusive technological solutions for Pakistan’s hearing-impaired community. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the government and innovators in developing accessible tech-driven services.
ConnectHear, a Pakistani startup, has gained recognition for its provision of sign language interpretation services and the development of AI-based tools tailored to bridge communication gaps for the Deaf community. Through its initiatives, ConnectHear seeks to empower individuals with hearing impairments, enabling greater participation in social and professional spheres.
During the discussion, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja reiterated her commitment to fostering an equitable and accessible Pakistan through the strategic use of technology. The Minister emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in driving digital inclusion and highlighted ongoing efforts by the IT Ministry to support services that benefit marginalized populations.
The engagement marks another step toward creating an inclusive digital ecosystem in Pakistan, with both stakeholders expressing optimism about the impact of innovative solutions for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
