Participants of the 38th Senior Management Course visited the Irrigation Secretariat, where they were briefed on the irrigation system and flood prevention measures by Secretary Irrigation Dr. Wasif Khurshid.
During the visit, Dr. Khurshid provided the course participants with a comprehensive overview of the province’s irrigation infrastructure. He discussed the operational aspects of water distribution, management strategies, and the department’s ongoing initiatives to ensure efficient irrigation.
The Secretary also highlighted the steps being taken to mitigate the risks posed by floods. He elaborated on the implementation of modern technology, regular maintenance of canals, and the construction of protective embankments as part of the government’s flood prevention strategy.
The participants engaged in a detailed discussion and expressed interest in learning more about the department’s future plans for sustainable water management and disaster resilience. The briefing aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of critical water-related challenges and the government’s approach to addressing them.
