Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in New York to attend the high-level segment of the 80th UN General Assembly scheduled from 22 to 26 September 2025. The visit places Ishaq Dar at the centre of Pakistan’s diplomatic activity during the annual UN gathering, where the Pakistan delegation will be led by the Prime Minister.
On arrival, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister was received by Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Shiekh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, alongside senior officials of the Pakistani Mission in New York.
Ishaq Dar will maintain a busy programme in New York. In addition to accompanying the Prime Minister to a series of engagements, the DPM/FM is set to represent Pakistan in numerous ministerial and high-level meetings and will hold over a dozen bilateral meetings with his counterparts to advance Pakistan’s priorities at the UN forum.
The planned interactions underscore Pakistan’s focus on active diplomacy at UNGA80, with Ishaq Dar playing a central role in both multilateral discussions and bilateral outreach during the high-level segment.
