Islamabad Express Unveils Refurbished Rake

Islamabad Express refurbished rake inaugurated at Margalla Station, bringing free tea, snacks, Wi-Fi and improved comfort for Lahore Rawalpindi travellers.

Railway Minister Mohammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated the newly refurbished rake of the Islamabad Express (108-DN) at Margalla Railway Station in Islamabad in a ceremony attended by senior railway officials, passengers and media representatives. The upgraded rake is intended to make travel between Lahore and Rawalpindi faster and noticeably more comfortable for daily commuters and long-distance travellers.

The refurbished Islamabad Express now offers complimentary tea and tasty snacks, free Wi-Fi and a cleaner, more peaceful onboard environment to enhance passenger comfort. These amenities will be made available across other rakes as part of a wider programme to lift service quality on key routes.

Speaking at the event, the minister said, “In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, the railways are being rebuilt on modern lines so that the public can be offered comfortable, safe and quality travel facilities.” He described the new rake as a practical step toward improving both digital services and overall service standards within Pakistan Railways.

The Ministry of Railways views the refurbishment as a visible move toward a more modern, transparent and passenger-friendly system. With the Islamabad Express rake now in service, travellers on the Lahore–Rawalpindi corridor can expect greater convenience and satisfaction during their journeys.
