JI Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa says the party’s sit-ins are becoming centres of public mobilisation.

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa has said that the party’s sit-ins at the headquarters of all four provinces are becoming centres of public mobilisation.

In a statement issued by the Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad information department on August 18, 2026, Randhawa said the sit-ins had created a new wave of public awareness, with a large number of people joining the struggle for their rights.

He said the basic demands of Jamaat-e-Islami included a reduction in prices of petroleum products, abolition of the petroleum levy, reduction in what he called oppressive taxes, and provision of real economic relief to the public.

Randhawa said these demands were receiving strong public support, adding that the growing interest and participation in the sit-ins clearly showed that people were no longer ready to accept further inflation and economic burden.

The JI Islamabad chief said the party’s sit-ins were not merely protests but a movement to organise and mobilise the people. He said the public mobilisation continuing across the country would, God willing, prove to be a precursor to major change and a new revolution.

Randhawa urged the government to listen to the voice of the people and immediately accept Jamaat-e-Islami’s legitimate demands.

He said the sit-ins would continue in all circumstances until the demands were accepted, adding that the people would return only after getting their demands approved.
