Junior womens hockey championship 2026 is set for Islamabad as PHF opens the door for emerging talent nationwide.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has announced the junior women’s hockey championship for 2026, setting the stage for a key national tournament aimed at building the future of women’s hockey in the country.

According to the federation, the event will be held from July 6 to July 9, 2026 at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad. The four-day championship is expected to draw promising young players from across Pakistan, giving them a chance to compete at the national level and gain valuable exposure.

The PHF has invited provincial hockey associations, regional bodies and affiliated departments, including the Pakistan Army, WAPDA and Pakistan Railways, to take part in the competition. Teams from other institutions will also be eligible to join the championship under the federation’s participation guidelines.

Each squad will be allowed to register 16 players along with two officials or coaches, allowing teams to prepare in line with the standard format approved by the federation. Officials said the arrangement has been made to ensure a competitive environment that supports talent identification and development.

The junior women’s hockey championship is part of the PHF’s broader plan to strengthen the women’s game and create a clear pathway for young athletes to move toward higher levels of national representation. The federation believes the tournament will help uncover new talent and add momentum to efforts aimed at rebuilding and expanding women’s hockey in Pakistan.

With Islamabad set to host the event, the championship is expected to become an important platform for emerging players who are looking to make their mark in the sport and earn recognition on the national stage.
