**PHA Steps Up Efforts to Preserve and Beautify Historic Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi**
The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has intensified its efforts to maintain and beautify the historic Liaquat Bagh, aiming to provide a lush and recreational environment for the city’s residents. Acting on the special instructions of the Director General, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, the authority has launched enhanced measures to preserve the park’s aesthetic and historical significance.
Liaquat Bagh, centrally located in Rawalpindi, holds great importance in the political history of Pakistan. Formerly known as Company Bagh during the era of the East India Company, it was renamed Liaquat National Bagh in honor of Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan, who was assassinated on its grounds in 1951. Over the years, the park has not only become a renowned venue for political gatherings but also a favored spot for the public to enjoy leisure and sightseeing amidst its green landscapes.
To uphold the significance and public appeal of Liaquat Bagh, DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha has issued directives to focus on the park’s maintenance, cleanliness, and decorative enhancements. Responding to these directions, PHA staff are now carrying out horticultural activities with renewed dedication on a daily basis to ensure that the park remains vibrant and welcoming.
The park’s towering trees, lush greenery, and colorful floral displays are being carefully tended to, significantly enhancing the beauty and ambiance of the site. The PHA has committed all necessary resources to maintain Liaquat Bagh as part of a broader initiative to green the city and provide high-quality recreational facilities for Rawalpindi’s residents.
PHA staff are recognized for their key role in sustaining the historic park’s charm through their consistent and diligent horticulture work, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to conserving Rawalpindi’s urban green spaces for generations to come.
