The Ministry of Human Rights convened a seminar in Islamabad to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, focusing on practical steps to improve accessibility and advance disability rights across Pakistan. The event was organised in partnership with the National Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM) and FAID Pakistan.

Dr. Farid Ullah Khan Zimri attended as Chief Guest and joined stakeholders and subject-matter experts in discussions that examined the everyday barriers faced by persons with disabilities and proposed actionable recommendations for both public institutions and private sector actors.

Speakers highlighted ongoing government efforts to enhance physical accessibility, inclusive service delivery and legal protections, while emphasising that progress will depend on sustained coordination between ministries, rehabilitation centres and disability rights organisations.

Participants exchanged ideas on policy reform, awareness raising and capacity building to ensure equal rights and participation for persons with disabilities.
