RAWALPINDI: The Muslim Students Organisation (MSO) Pakistan, Rawalpindi district, organised a series of programmes, rallies, seminars and ceremonies across Rawalpindi in connection with August 14, Independence Day.
As part of the activities, a major rally was held under the district chapter in which students and youth from Rawalpindi participated in large numbers. This year, the central theme of the Independence Day celebrations has been titled “Love Pakistan”.
According to the MSO Pakistan Rawalpindi press release, office-bearers, workers and students of the organisation across the country are arranging various programmes to mark Independence Day with national and patriotic spirit. The events include special talks and awareness sessions on the freedom struggle of Pakistan, the ideology of Pakistan, national unity, the role of youth and the country’s development.
Speaking on the occasion, MSO Punjab Nazim Sharjeel Ahsan said Pakistan was a great blessing of Allah Almighty and its independence was the result of the unforgettable sacrifices of the elders. He said creating awareness among the younger generation about Pakistan’s history, the freedom movement and national responsibilities was the need of the hour.
He said the purpose of the events being held under the theme “Love Pakistan” was to promote love for Pakistan, national unity, a sense of responsibility and a constructive role among the youth. He said MSO Pakistan believed that the future of the country was linked with the younger generation, and the youth could play a basic role in making Pakistan strong and developed through their abilities, knowledge and character.
MSO Rawalpindi District Nazim Abu Hurairah said Independence Day was not only a day of celebration but also an occasion to renew the pledge. He said there was a need to resolve to play a positive role for the protection of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical boundaries, national unity, promotion of education and national development.
