Muhammad Murtaza Noor Appointed General Secretary, Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC) – Islamabad Region
Islamabad – The Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC) has appointed Muhammad Murtaza Noor as the General Secretary for its Islamabad Region. The announcement was made by the PAEC Board of Directors and Central Executive Committee in recognition of his leadership, professional excellence, and longstanding contributions to strengthening international cooperation.
In his new role, Murtaza Noor will oversee administrative affairs, membership development, event coordination, and strategic liaison for the Islamabad Chapter. The PAEC leadership expressed confidence that his extensive experience and dynamic leadership will further enhance the council’s outreach and deepen Pakistan–Africa economic and institutional partnerships.
With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, development, and international cooperation, Murtaza Noor is widely respected for his work in academic networking, youth development, and policy advocacy. He serves as National Coordinator of IUCPSS—the largest network of public and private sector universities—Executive Director of APSUP, and Senior Vice President of the Academia-Industry Linkages Forum. He is also the founder of the International Students Convention & Expo, Pakistan’s largest student-focused platform.
Murtaza Noor has played a significant role in global academic diplomacy, including serving as Advisor Linkages & Media at OIC-COMSTECH and Country Coordinator for the Global Higher Education Leadership Academy. His contributions through collaborations with HEC, LUMS, UNDP, and other leading institutions have strengthened governance, capacity building, and inter-university linkages across the country.
A regular columnist and youth advocate, he has been honoured with several national and international awards, including the Peace Award, Civic Education Award, and multiple recognitions from academic and international organisations. He has also represented Pakistan at various global forums.
