Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal met Gavi Chief Executive Officer Dr Saniya Nishtar in Geneva to discuss a coordinated approach ahead of upcoming Gavi board meetings and to align on Pakistan’s immunization priorities and ongoing support.

The leaders exchanged views on a joint strategy to expand vaccine access across Pakistan. Mustafa Kamal welcomed the strong collaboration with Gavi, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring effective measures to increase immunization coverage and saying that improvement in the health sector remains a top priority.

Dr Saniya Nishtar praised Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen routine and campaign vaccination, highlighting progress and the need for continued partnership. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the Gavi partnership and expressed confidence in future cooperation to boost vaccine coverage nationwide.

Officials agreed to maintain close coordination in the lead up to the board meetings, focusing on practical steps to enhance delivery and equity of immunization services across provinces.
