National CERT Pakistan has commenced its Summer Internship Programme 2026, selecting around 1% of applicants nationwide.

National CERT Pakistan has announced the commencement of its Summer Internship Programme 2026, bringing together some of the country’s brightest young minds to contribute to Pakistan’s national cybersecurity mission.

According to National CERT, the programme received an overwhelming response, with approximately 50,000 applications submitted by students and graduates from across Pakistan.

Following a rigorous and merit-based selection process, only around 1 per cent of applicants secured a place in the programme, making it one of the most competitive internship programmes in the country.

The selected interns will receive hands-on exposure to national-level cybersecurity initiatives, including cyber defence, threat intelligence, digital forensics, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), security operations, research and development, cyber policy, and capacity building.

They will work alongside experts at National CERT and contribute to projects aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s cyber resilience.

National CERT said it remains committed to nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by providing meaningful learning opportunities, practical experience and mentorship to help build a secure and digitally resilient Pakistan.

The organisation also congratulated all selected interns and appreciated every applicant for their enthusiasm and interest in serving the nation through cybersecurity.

“Together, we are building Pakistan’s future cyber workforce,” National CERT said.
