The National Curriculum Council (NCC) convened a provincial consultation workshop in Karachi in November 2025 at the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, working with the School Education and Literacy Department Sindh as part of the ongoing nationwide consultation on National Curriculum Reforms.
Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, Chairman of BSE Karachi, opened the session with remarks praising the NCC’s reform efforts and underlining the importance of provincial collaboration. Dr. Tabassum Naz, Director of the NCC, highlighted the need for inclusive participation to ensure the National Curriculum reflects diverse learner needs and regional contexts.
Participants from government bodies, education specialists and local stakeholders contributed practical feedback during discussions designed to refine learning outcomes and align curriculum priorities with classroom realities in Sindh. Dr. Fauzia Khan, Additional Secretary, was acknowledged for her active engagement and the workshop recognised the value of stakeholder input in shaping next steps.
The Karachi consultation is one stop in a larger series of engagements aimed at strengthening the National Curriculum across provinces; subsequent workshops are scheduled for Quetta and Gilgit-Baltistan, with insights from all sessions to inform the reform process moving forward.
