NCSW Members Champion Women’s Empowerment in Pakistan

The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) has recognized the dedication and service of its members in advancing women’s rights and empowerment across Pakistan. Chairperson Ume-Laila Azhar praised key members including Ayra Inderyas, Sister Marium, and Cma Maheshwary, alongside others representing various provinces and regions, for their active participation in National Minority Day and Independence Day activities.

During a series of events and national conferences, NCSW members reflected on the Commission’s 25-year journey. They highlighted notable achievements, such as advocating for fundamental needs like separate washrooms for women, championing legal reforms for minority women, and making strides in economic and political empowerment.

The NCSW has played a leading role in promoting gender equality, equity, and inclusion in Pakistan. Through partnerships with various organizations, the Commission has helped open access to educational institutions, vocational training centers, and has promoted digital inclusion for women.

Chairperson Ume-Laila Azhar encouraged members to continue their efforts, emphasizing the importance of ongoing participation in empowering women nationwide.
