Pakistan Myanmar preparations boost confidence as Mohibullah and Waqar target victory, citing improved fitness, cohesion and coach Shahzad Anwar Solano's approach.

Mohibullah and Waqar have expressed renewed confidence as Pakistan prepares to face Myanmar, saying the squad is better prepared, more cohesive and determined to deliver a positive result.

Waqar stressed the team’s belief in their work during camp, saying, “Our preparation is even better this time, Inshallah, we hope we can win,” while Mohibullah added, “We’ll try to perform even better than before,” reflecting a quiet confidence in the dressing room.

The optimism follows an intensive training period where players have steadily improved across all departments. Mohibullah pointed to a positive response to coaching plans and growing match sharpness, noting that regular game time and exposure have helped the group gel ahead of the Pakistan Myanmar fixture.

Head coach Shahzad Anwar Solano has been credited with creating a balanced environment that mixes professionalism with freedom to express on the field. Players drafted from domestic competitions have seized the opportunity to show their progress, bringing fresh energy and commitment to the national setup.

Trainer Raiyan Abbasi has focused heavily on fitness, and Waqar described the squad’s condition as tremendous after the team regained sharpness following the challenges of Ramadan. Fasting initially placed the side at a slight disadvantage, but sustained training together has restored physical readiness.

Despite the absence of several senior and overseas players, Mohibullah said squad chemistry remains strong because many team members have worked together before. Younger players have adjusted quickly to the system and contributed positively, creating a friendly and communicative atmosphere within camp.

Recent matches against competitive opponents such as Syria and Afghanistan have helped strengthen belief, Waqar added, and Pakistan’s previous meeting with Myanmar gives the squad added confidence. Both leaders acknowledged the difficulty of playing in quieter stadiums, with Mohibullah urging fans to stay behind the team even when crowds are small.

The focus now is on translating preparation into performance as Pakistan looks to use improved fitness, tactical discipline and unity to claim a result against Myanmar in the upcoming match.
