The Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain, disclosed that there are 22.8 million out-of-school children in Pakistan, with over 16,000 in the Federal Capital alone. In an effort to address this issue, the ministry has implemented various initiatives to enhance the standard of education and access to it.
The minister’s primary objective is to reduce the number of out-of-school children in Islamabad and transform it into a model for the rest of the country.
The minister also mentioned the School on Wheels initiative, which aims to reach students who lack infrastructure or financial resources to attend schools. This initiative is expected to be expanded to include disaster-affected populations in the future.
Rana Tanveer Hussain praised the contribution of female journalists and acknowledged the critical role they play in the country’s progress. He encouraged them to continue their excellent work and highlighted the importance of education in uplifting the country and addressing its current issues.
