Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, District Health Officer Islamabad, represented Pakistan at the Doha Global South Health Policy Initiative where she outlined Pakistan’s approach to health financing amid shifting global resources.
Using the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) as a case study, she highlighted service integration and co-financing measures designed to sustain essential services during donor transitions. Her presentation detailed how integrated service delivery and domestic co-financing can protect routine programmes and ensure continuity of care as external funding landscapes change.
Discussions also covered crisis communication as a vital element in strengthening health system resilience, emphasising its role in maintaining public trust and coordinating responses during emergencies. Her remarks reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building sustainable and equitable public health systems and to advancing practical health financing solutions that support local implementation.
