Pakistan US Dialogue on Religious Harmony and Mutual Respect

Pakistan’s Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Khial Das Kohistani, met with Natalie Baker, the US Chargé d’Affaires, for a comprehensive discussion on strengthening interfaith harmony and promoting mutual respect between different communities.

During the meeting, both officials emphasized the importance of fostering peace, tolerance, and understanding among religious and cultural groups. Minister Kohistani highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all minority communities, stating that Pakistan serves as a strong example of religious tolerance and harmony for the world. He reiterated the country’s desire to work with the United States to further advance religious harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

Natalie Baker praised Pakistan’s religious and cultural diversity, noting that the United States values this richness and remains committed to promoting equal respect and tolerance among all communities. She affirmed the shared resolve of both countries to encourage understanding and respect across religious and cultural lines.

The US Embassy in Islamabad also commented on the meeting, expressing appreciation for the fruitful conversation regarding religious freedom and interfaith harmony, and reaffirming the shared commitment to respecting all communities.
