Pakistan Chosen to Host ASOCIO Digital Summit 2026, Marking Major Achievement for Country’s Tech Sector
Pakistan has been selected to host the Asia Oceanian Company Industry Organization ASOCIO Digital Summit 2026, a milestone that highlights the country’s rising influence in the Asia-Oceania technology landscape and its strengthened position as a regional digital leader. The announcement was made during the ongoing ASOCIO Digital Summit 2025 in Chinese Taipei, where Pakistan’s performance and participation received significant recognition.
P@SHA, the leading trade body representing Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services sector, confirmed the development, calling it a major endorsement of Pakistan’s digital capabilities. Chairman P@SHA, Sajjad Mustafa Syed, said it reflects global confidence in Pakistan’s tech ecosystem and its readiness to host regional decision-makers, innovators, and technology industry leaders. He stated that Pakistan stands prepared to showcase its rapidly evolving digital landscape and expand collaborations across Asia-Oceania.
Pakistan’s presence at the ASOCIO Digital Summit 2025 was marked by strong achievements. Seven Pakistani companies secured ASOCIO ICT Awards 2025, underscoring the country’s growing strength in artificial intelligence, digital services, enterprise technologies, and emerging tech sectors. A delegation of 15 IT companies represented Pakistan across key award categories and high-level discussions, reinforcing the country’s expanding reputation for innovation and competitiveness.
During the summit, P@SHA leadership held constructive engagements with ASOCIO Chairman Stan Singh and delegations from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and other member countries. Discussions focused on aligning digital policies, nurturing high-tech talent, and unlocking new opportunities for cross-border digital trade. P@SHA also explored joint ventures, BPO partnerships, and talent mobility programs through meetings with CISA and multiple Asia-Pacific industry associations.
Pakistan’s digital strengths were prominently highlighted at the summit. P@SHA showcased the country’s expanding IT exports, growing corporate base, and skilled workforce. With over 3,000 registered IT firms, more than 600,000 technology professionals, strong startup activity, and one of the youngest digital workforces in the region, Pakistan presented itself as a competitive and fast-advancing digital hub.
Supported by national institutions such as SIFC, the Ministry of IT and Telecom, PSEB, and Tech Destination Pakistan, P@SHA is advancing a series of strategic initiatives. These include export diversification into East Asia and Oceania, stronger collaboration between Pakistani and ASOCIO-member startups, policy advocacy for visa facilitation and intellectual property protection, and advanced skills development in high-demand fields such as generative AI, blockchain, and data analytics.
The hosting of ASOCIO Digital Summit 2026 is being viewed as a transformative opportunity for Pakistan’s IT industry, positioning the country at the center of regional digital cooperation and accelerating its global technology footprint.
