Pakistan UAE tech leaders expand cooperation in AI, data infrastructure and startup investment at GITEX 2025 to boost digital governance and cybersecurity.

At GITEX 2025 in Dubai, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja held a series of strategic talks with UAE officials to deepen collaboration on digital governance, AI innovation, data infrastructure and startup development. The discussions underscored practical steps to accelerate Pakistan UAE tech cooperation and align regulatory and investment frameworks.

During discussions with H.E. Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the minister outlined Pakistan’s policy priorities including the Digital Nation Pakistan Act and the National Data Exchange Layer. Emphasis was placed on enabling a cashless economy, smart governance measures and the responsible integration of AI to deliver public services more efficiently.

The minister also met Massimo Falcioni, Chief Competitiveness Officer at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, where both sides explored expanding UAE–Pakistan ties in digital investment and cross-border technology partnerships. Conversations focused on creating pathways for UAE capital to support Pakistani startups and on joint initiatives that foster innovation across both markets.

An in-depth session with Muneeb Anjum, CEO of AHAD, addressed Pakistan’s cybersecurity needs, stressing the importance of building digital trust through robust security solutions and strengthened public-private collaboration. The meetings collectively signalled a renewed commitment to scale Pakistan UAE tech collaboration, enhance national cyber resilience and boost the local innovation ecosystem.
