Islamabad — At the AI X Future Summit 2025 held at Bahria University, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry urged Pakistan to make strategic AI adoption a national priority to drive economic and governance reforms.
Addressing educators, policymakers, media professionals and students, he described AI as a defining force of the present with transformative potential for the country’s economy, public institutions and information ecosystem. He highlighted the government’s commitment under the National Economic Transformation Plan Uraan Pakistan 2024–2029 to embed digital innovation and technology-driven governance as central pillars of progress.
Barrister Danyal Chaudhry stressed that AI adoption can improve transparency, efficiency and inclusivity across public services, particularly in information dissemination, media regulation and citizen engagement. He said AI offers tools to strengthen institutional performance while also calling for careful planning to manage risks.
On the role of media in the AI era, he noted that technology can both counter misinformation and help rebuild public trust, but only if accompanied by robust ethical frameworks and cross-sector collaboration. He urged stakeholders to work together to ensure responsible AI adoption that supports accurate reporting and accountable governance.
The summit gathered a wide range of participants from academia and the media to discuss practical steps for integrating AI into Pakistan’s public and information sectors, reflecting a growing consensus that deliberate AI adoption is essential to national development.
