Pasban Watan Pakistan launches to advocate a presidential system and reforms for governance, education, economy and national security.

A new political party, Pasban Watan Pakistan, was officially launched at the National Press Club in Islamabad with a stated aim to push for a presidential system and broad governance reforms. Party leaders described the move as a response to decades of hereditary politics and persistent problems such as corruption, nepotism, inflation and unemployment that have left citizens frustrated with the current system.

Sheikh Mukhtar, serving as chairman, said the country must be freed from inherited political dominance and guided onto a path of development through reform and decisive action. He framed the presidential system as the mechanism to deliver better governance and accountability across all sectors.

Tahir Khokhar, the party’s central president, emphasized that Pakistan’s institutions would benefit from a shift to the presidential system to improve overall performance, service delivery and policy implementation. He argued the change is necessary for strengthening the state and accelerating development.

Amjad Mehmood Bhatti, secretary general, said the Pasban Watan Pakistan foundation will focus on practical measures to transform Pakistan into a welfare state, bringing the nation from darkness into light through social and economic reforms.

The party announced its slogan as “Watan se wafa, qaum ki bqa” and affirmed commitment to the Constitution, Islamic principles and the visions of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. Pasban Watan Pakistan outlined priorities including making national defence impregnable, strengthening the armed forces, police and security agencies, and implementing effective measures to eradicate corruption while ensuring transparency, accountability and performance in public institutions.

Education and economic policies highlighted by the party include implementing a unified curriculum that blends religious and modern studies, guaranteeing free and quality education for every child, promoting self-reliant economic policies, expanding agricultural development and creating training, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth. The party also pledged timely justice, equal rights and protections for women, minorities, elders and persons with disabilities, activating the zakat and welfare systems and pursuing social reforms aligned with Islamic teachings.

Leaders said Pasban Watan Pakistan will invest in youth leadership through training programs aimed at character building, patriotism and volunteer service, with the stated goal of creating a Pakistan where every citizen enjoys dignity, justice, education, employment and security in line with the ideals of the country’s founders.
