PTF and PM Youth Programme inaugurate new Padel Courts in Islamabad to boost grassroots tennis and introduce children to mini tennis.

Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, formally inaugurated the newly constructed Padel and mini tennis facilities at the Pakistan Tennis Federation Tennis Complex in Islamabad, with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the PTF, in attendance. The new Padel Courts have been designed to serve both as modern padel venues and as mini tennis courts to engage younger players from across the capital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan commended the Pakistan Tennis Federation for its recent strides, saying, “Tennis is flourishing in Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. The Government of Pakistan and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme fully support Mr. Aisam’s vision for the growth and development of tennis in the country.” His remarks underscored government backing for initiatives that expand access to facilities such as the new Padel Courts.

Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi thanked Mr. Rana Mashood for inaugurating the project and highlighted the courts’ dual purpose. “These courts will play a vital role in introducing tennis to young kids at an early age, encouraging their interest and participation in the sport. This approach is being successfully implemented around the world, and we are proud to bring it to Pakistan,” he said, noting that the Padel Courts will help broaden the sport’s grassroots reach.

The inauguration drew a large turnout including former Davis Cup player Mr. Rashid Malik, Major Suleman Junaid SEVP-PTF, Mr. Rehan Munir Malik, Col. Gul Rehman Director C&S PTF, national and foreign players, coaches, parents, media representatives and PTF officials. Organisers said the facility will support youth development programmes and community coaching initiatives, marking a practical step toward nurturing future tennis talent in Pakistan through the new Padel Courts.
