Lahore : A public hearing was held by the Environment Protection Department (EPD) of Punjab in order to submit the Draft of Punjab’s State of Environment Report, 2022.
The purpose of this report is to not only present an overview of the current state of the environment in Punjab, but also to identify the primary environmental concerns that need to be addressed.

The significance of the study was emphasized by various government officials who spoke during the session, including Secretary EPD Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chohan.

Attendees consisted of a varied collection of stakeholders, including representatives from organizations such as UNICEF and WWF, as well as government ministries, business industries, and academic institutions.
Dr. Chohan highlighted the importance of effective laws and regulations in his talk, saying that they are necessary to reduce the negative effects of environmental degradation and pointing out the necessity of collective efforts to address environmental concerns.
Additional Secretary of the Environmental Protection Department Samia Saleem, Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency Nadia Saqib, and Project Director of the Strategic Planning and Implementation Unit of the Environmental Protection Department Waqar Ud Din Butt were also present and gave speeches during the ceremony.
During the course of the hearing, the findings of the report were presented by Dr. Anber Raheel, who is the Director of the SPIU Punjab Green Development Program.
The report addressed many different environmental concerns, such as the quality of the air, the soil, the water, the trash (both solid and liquid), and the complaints that were received about the environment.
Participants from a wide variety of departments were given the chance to contribute feedback and comments during the public hearing, which were then considered for possible incorporation into the final version of the report.
An extraordinary number of representatives from a broad range of stakeholder groups attended the event.
