The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi announced the Intermediate Part I annual examination results, reporting an overall pass rate of 54.12 percent and significantly higher success among female students, who secured all three top positions. A ceremony at Fatima Jinnah Women University honored the position holders and highlighted ongoing education reforms and development initiatives in the region.
The board released the results showing an overall pass percentage of 54.12. Male students recorded a pass rate of 39.87 percent, while female students achieved 62.4 percent, underscoring a notable gender gap in performance in favor of girls.
A formal awards ceremony for the position holders was held at Fatima Jinnah Women University, attended by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi as the chief guest. Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab Shazia Rizwan, provincial assembly members Zia Ullah Shah, Asma Abbasi, Rafat Abbasi and Falak Sher, Chairman of the Board Muhammad Adnan Khan, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, education department officials, students and parents were also present.
Female students claimed the top three positions. Arej Shafqat Hayat of Punjab College for Women, Talagang, topped the list with 1,148 marks. Ayesha Mushtaq, also from Punjab College for Women, Talagang, took second place with 1,139 marks, while Iman Fatima of Royal College of Sciences for Girls, Chakwal, secured third place with 1,138 marks. The position holders were given a guard of honor and received medals and awards from the federal minister.
In his remarks, Federal Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi congratulated the successful students and their families, and highlighted initiatives by the Punjab chief minister to provide laptops and scholarships to promising students. He praised the provincial leadership for prioritizing education reforms and ensuring merit and transparency. The minister also referred to a recent Pakistan–Saudi Arabia agreement as a significant milestone and described the responsibility for protecting the Two Holy Mosques as a great honor for Pakistan. He commended the country’s armed forces and credited the prime minister for recent diplomatic achievements.
The federal minister also lauded the board chairman and his team for conducting transparent, merit-based examinations. He noted that Punjab’s provincial education minister, Sikandar Hayat, is actively pursuing innovations in the education system, and he said development projects for educational institutions in Rawalpindi are progressing rapidly.
