Rawalpindi police, acting on directives from CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani and aligned with the Chief Minister’s vision of a Drug Free Punjab, carried out an intensive operation that led to the arrest of three suspects including a major drug supplier and the recovery of more than 11 kilograms of cannabis.
The seizures were made across separate localities with Newtown police detaining a principal supplier and recovering 8 kilograms 400 grams of cannabis. Ratta Amral police arrested one individual and recovered 1 kilogram 700 grams, while Chaklala police took another suspect into custody and recovered 1 kilogram 340 grams.
The CPO emphasized that the Rawalpindi drug raid forms part of a sustained crackdown and that all available resources are being deployed to eliminate the drug menace from the city. Authorities said operations will continue under close supervision to disrupt supply networks and protect local communities.
A Rawalpindi Police spokesperson confirmed the arrests and recoveries, reiterating that enforcement actions will support the broader Drug Free Punjab initiative and that further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend additional offenders.
