Participants of the 8th six-week post induction training course for newly posted PMS officers (BS-17) visited the RDA complex for a study tour and were received at the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi office. The visit aimed to familiarise officers with practical aspects of urban development, environmental improvement and horticulture management across the city.
Officials from Rawalpindi horticulture delivered a comprehensive briefing covering ongoing development projects, restoration of green belts, park landscaping, large-scale tree planting campaigns and other measures to enhance the city’s visual and environmental quality. The presentation highlighted how modern urban planning is being used to maintain ecological balance while providing healthier public spaces.
Fazail Mudassir, Additional Managing Director of the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi, told the visiting officers that the agency is committed to keeping Rawalpindi green, clean and attractive. He outlined accelerated work on several projects that not only boost city aesthetics but also expand recreational opportunities for residents.
Nasir Wilayat Langrial, Director Admin and Finance at the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi, explained the agency’s approach to administrative and financial management, stressing efficient resource use and transparency to ensure timely completion of development schemes. He emphasised that stronger governance and planning are central to sustained urban progress.
The visiting PMS officers engaged actively, raising questions that received detailed responses from agency staff. Officers commended the professional work and practical initiatives of the Horticulture Agency, describing the models on display as useful templates for other departments. Many said they would draw on these examples to raise the standard of public service delivery in their own postings.
Horticulture leadership pledged to continue organising such study visits to provide government officers with hands-on exposure and to promote inter-agency coordination. The move is part of a broader effort by Rawalpindi horticulture to strengthen institutional learning and support long-term improvements in city beautification and environmental management.
