**Rawat Police Solve Honour Killing Case, Arrest Husband and Two Sons**
Rawat Police in Rawalpindi have resolved a harrowing case of honour killing, arresting a man and his two sons for the murder of his wife and the clandestine burial of her body in a remote area. Authorities say swift police action, spurred by a confidential tip-off, led to the discovery of the victim’s remains and the arrest of the suspects.
According to official sources, Rawat Police received information indicating that a woman had been killed and her body concealed by her own family. Acting on these reports, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani directed immediate legal proceedings and ordered the arrest of those responsible. A case was promptly registered, and a police team led by SHO Rawat Inspector Zahid Zahoor and HIU Cell In-charge Jamal Nawaz launched a targeted operation. Their efforts culminated in the arrest of the deceased woman’s husband and two sons.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim endured brutal torture prior to being murdered. The suspects subsequently attempted to cover up their crime by secretly burying her body in an isolated area, seeking to evade detection.
SP Saddar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar confirmed that the police had collected substantial evidence against the accused. He pledged vigorous prosecution to ensure that the perpetrators receive the harshest punishment possible, emphasising that individuals accused of such grave crimes cannot escape justice. He further reaffirmed the police’s ongoing commitment to accountability in cases of violent crime.
The incident has once again cast a spotlight on the issue of honour-based violence in Pakistan, prompting renewed calls for action. Law enforcement authorities have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance towards such crimes and assured the public of strict measures against all those involved.
