Federal Minister urges religious education for all Muslims and presents awards to madrasah graduates while condemning the Imambargah attack and praying for stability.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf told a packed audience in Islamabad that religious education is the duty of every Muslim according to individual responsibilities, urging families and institutions to support learning and memorisation of the Quran.

Speaking at a joint award ceremony for Madrasah Mahd al-Qur’an, Madrasah Syedna Umar Farooq E-12/3 and Jamia Islamia Madina Madani Masjid I-9/4, the minister praised the role of religious scholars and teachers in strengthening faith and character across communities in the capital.

The minister noted that Pakistan’s achievements and security are by the grace of Allah Ta’ala and the sacrifices of earlier generations, and he highlighted the stature of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as a Hafiz of the Quran, saying that his devotion has earned respect and contributes to national security and the promotion of Islam.

Condemning the recent terrorist attack on the Imambargah Mosque in Islamabad, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said, “The killing of a human being is the killing of humanity,” stressing that terrorists have no religion and that the attack was a deliberate attempt to undermine communal harmony.

In the ceremony the minister presented certificates and prizes to 34 qualified position holders across three examinations, and he honoured senior journalist Pervez Iqbal Mughal, Professor Dr. Pir Mufti Muhammad Saifullah Adil Qadri, Maulana Muhammad Abu Bakr Hameed Sabri and other community leaders with special awards for their efforts to promote religious harmony and peace.

A special prayer was offered for the stability of the nation and for continued unity among Pakistan’s diverse religious communities as the country advances its role in promoting Islamic values worldwide.
