RWU marks Kashmir Black Day with a session on Kashmir Issue and Pakistani youth featuring Dr Waleed Rasool and a solidarity walk for Kashmiri self-determination.

On October 27, 2025 Rawalpindi Women University observed Kashmir Black Day with a session titled “Kashmir Issue and Pakistani Youth” organized by the RWU Literary and Debating Society in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs. The event marked Kashmir Black Day and brought students and faculty together to reflect on the long-standing dispute and its human impact.

Dr. Waleed Rasool, serving as Academic and Research Convener at the Higher Education Commission, addressed attendees and underscored the historical injustices faced by the Kashmiri people, the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and their enduring resilience. He urged Pakistani youth to remain informed and engaged, stressing that persistent advocacy for peace, justice, and human rights is vital for meaningful progress.

The session provided a platform for students to engage with the issues affecting Jammu and Kashmir and to consider constructive roles they can play. Discussions emphasized the importance of informed activism, peaceful solidarity, and the necessity of upholding international human rights standards while supporting Kashmiri aspirations.

The gathering concluded with a solidarity walk that reaffirmed Rawalpindi Women University’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their legitimate struggle for self-determination. Observed as Kashmir Black Day, the event highlighted the central role of Pakistani youth in sustaining attention on the Kashmir issue and promoting a rights-based approach to the conflict.
