On April 27, 2026, a SCO meeting began at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat in Beijing under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side. Delegates from member states, Secretariat staff and representatives of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS are taking part in discussions aimed at coordinating the Organisation’s agenda for the year.

Participants are addressing a range of issues tied to preparation of the Organisation’s key events in 2026, with planners and national coordinators working to align schedules, priorities and procedural details. The SCO meeting provides a platform for technical coordination ahead of major gatherings later in the year.

Special attention is being paid to measures to improve the functioning of the SCO, while member states have tabled proposals intended to deepen political, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
