RAWALPINDI: Rising Pakistan Forum organised a Seerat Conference at the Rawalpindi Arts Council under the title “Need to Keep the Uswa-e-Hasana of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in View for Politics and Leadership in the Present Era”.
Social leaders and religious scholars attended the conference and highlighted different aspects of the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
The participants included Muhammad Obaidullah, Dr Hafiz Aslam, Muhammad Mateen Hashmi, Chairman Mukammal Pakistan Party; Michael Rose, Chairman Christian United Party; Gul Afreen, Secretary General Muslim League Women Wing Rawalpindi; President Islamabad Goods and Transport Companies and social leader Muhammad Javed Iqbal; central leader of Rising Pakistan Saima Bhatti; Mubashir Ahmed, Vice President Rising Pakistan Forum; Dr Ghulam Ali, President Rising Pakistan Forum; and Rakhshanda Tasneem.
Speakers described the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) as a complete code of life. They said the Seerat-e-Tayyaba remained a source of guidance and that present-day political leadership needed to learn from the Holy Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) political insight, wisdom and strategies as a head of state.
They said the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was the best teacher, trader, companion and head of family, and his conduct also offered guidance in matters of statecraft and leadership.
The speakers referred to the preaching of Islam in Makkah despite hardships and oppression, the establishment of the State of Madinah after migration, the role of an exemplary victor at the conquest of Makkah, and the conduct of coexistence and reconciliation with non-Muslim minorities in a Muslim state.
They said every aspect of the Holy Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) life was an example worthy of emulation. They stressed that to acquaint the younger generation with Seerat, practical steps were needed and people should mould their conduct in accordance with the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
Director Punjab Arts Council Muhammad Shakoor appreciated the holding of the event at the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi. He said understanding the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was essential for the present generation, adding that the Punjab Arts Council stood ready to extend all possible cooperation for such initiatives.
