ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Wednesday welcomed renowned Egyptian Qaris on their arrival in Pakistan.
The Qaris visiting Pakistan from Egypt include Qari Ayub Asif, Qari Taha Naumani, Qari Ibrahim Asif, Qari Maher Al-Shanawi and Qari Ismail Asif.
Expressing pleasure over the arrival of the distinguished guests, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said the Pakistani nation had deep love and reverence for the Holy Quran, its reciters and those who serve the Quran.
“We warmly welcome our honourable guests to Pakistan, their second home,” the minister said. He added that the arrival of internationally renowned Egyptian Qaris in Pakistan was a matter of joy and honour for the people of Pakistan.
The minister prayed that Allah Almighty bless their visit to Pakistan, enable the people of Pakistan to benefit from their beautiful and soul-stirring recitations, and make the gathering a means of promoting the message of the Holy Quran, love and Islamic brotherhood.
Earlier, the minister and participants had the honour of listening to the recitation of the Holy Quran by the visiting Qaris during a meeting held in the committee room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
All the Egyptian Qaris will participate in a grand public Mehfil-e-Husn-e-Qirat to be held at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, after Asr prayers on September 5, 2026. The special programme, featuring soul-stirring recitation of the Holy Quran, is being organised for the general public.
The event was attended by Ministry of Religious Affairs Joint Secretary Dawah and Ziarat Shehbaz Mustafa, Director Quran Dr Shahidur Rehman Marth, Deputy Director Seerat Mufti Muhammad Khaleeq, Advocate Rafique Shah from Jamia Binoria, Professor Sajjad Qamar, Qari Mehboobur Rehman, Sahibzada Professor Qari Muhammad Mushtaq Anwar, Chairman Saut-ul-Quran Academy Pakistan, Joharabad, Qari Muhammad Zeeshan Haider, Chairman Quran Academy Islamabad, renowned Naat Khawan Syed Zeeshan Bukhari, Mufti Jamilur Rehman Farooqi and Mufti Abrar from Islamabad.
