The senator emphasized that resolving the challenges faced by Pakistani doctors returning from abroad is a matter of national importance.

During an earlier meeting, the FMG delegation comprehensively briefed Senator Palwasha Khan on the difficulties encountered by foreign-trained Pakistani doctors, including PMDC regulatory barriers, recognition delays, licensing complications, and limited examination opportunities. These issues, they explained, have left thousands of qualified young doctors in professional uncertainty despite their readiness to serve in Pakistan’s healthcare system.

In a recent development, Senator Khan released a public video message reaffirming her commitment to the FMG community and calling for practical measures to resolve their legitimate concerns. The FMG representatives urged the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and the Ministry of National Health Services to initiate immediate dialogue to design a balanced, transparent, and humane policy for recognizing and integrating foreign-trained doctors.

They reiterated that their goal is not confrontation but collaboration, ensuring that the skills and dedication of overseas-trained Pakistani doctors are effectively utilized to strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
