Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Tianjin, China, to participate in key international events and hold important bilateral meetings. His visit focuses on strengthening Pakistan’s relations with China and other member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the SCO Council of Heads of State summit in Tianjin and is scheduled to deliver an address at the event. He will also participate in ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people’s victory in World War II, along with other official engagements in Beijing.
Accompanying the Prime Minister is a high-level Pakistani delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior government officials.
Upon arrival at Tianjin Airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed by Sun Meijun, Minister and Secretary of the CPC Committee at China’s General Administration of Customs; Yu Yunlin, Chairman and Party Secretary of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee; Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan; and Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.
Prime Minister Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, aiming to enhance cooperation in various sectors. He is also scheduled to meet heads of leading Chinese business enterprises and will preside over the second Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing. This conference is expected to explore new avenues for deepening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will take the opportunity to meet with leaders of other countries attending the SCO summit, further strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with regional partners.
