Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq received a delegation from the Parliamentary Reporters Association of Pakistan at Parliament House on Friday, October 10, 2025. The delegation was led by PRAP President M.B. Soomro and included Secretary Naveed Akbar, Ahmed Nawaz and Javed Noor.
The Speaker congratulated the newly elected PRAP office-bearers and acknowledged the important work of Parliamentary Reporters in covering legislative affairs. The delegation requested that the Speaker administer the oath to the newly elected body, and he agreed to do so during the upcoming session of the National Assembly.
Emphasizing the vital link between the legislature and the public, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq noted that parliamentary reporting keeps citizens informed about parliamentary decisions and democratic processes. He underlined that journalism strengthens democratic institutions and fosters public awareness across Pakistan.
The Speaker reaffirmed that the National Assembly Secretariat will provide full cooperation and facilitation to PRAP and its newly elected body in all matters related to parliamentary coverage, ensuring Parliamentary Reporters can perform their duties effectively and transparently.
