The Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Faiz Ahmed, has strengthened ties with the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) during a recent visit aimed at promoting collaboration on a major design and e-commerce initiative.
Accompanied by key members from TDAP’s Textile and Leather Division, Faiz Ahmed was received by PIFD Vice Chancellor Tayyaba Hina Khalil and faculty members. The meeting featured a detailed presentation on the Design and E-Commerce Centre at PIFD, a project funded with over PKR 240 million from the Export Development Fund. The center is intended to nurture entrepreneurial skills among designers, provide access to cutting-edge design tools, and help align the institute’s programs with international sustainable development goals.
During discussions, Faiz Ahmed reiterated TDAP’s commitment to working closely with PIFD, noting the potential for the institute to add significant value to Pakistan’s fashion and design sectors. He also highlighted Pakistan’s improving reputation as a trade destination and the increasing engagement with markets in Central Asia.
The visit concluded with a ceremonial exchange of mementos, underscoring the ongoing partnership and shared vision between TDAP and PIFD to boost innovation and international market access for Pakistani designers.
