USC relief package delivers phased payments and annual increments for Utility Stores employees under government directives, with cheques already being issued.

Islamabad, February 04, 2026 — A special relief package under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been announced to provide financial protection for employees of the Utility Stores Corporation.

The management of the Utility Stores Corporation and the National Workers Union met under the chairmanship of the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, where a formal severance and compensation agreement was signed to support affected workers and their families.

The agreed package includes a comprehensive severance and compensation framework, with distribution of cheques already underway. Payments will be released in phases, with 40 percent paid in the first tranche followed by two installments of 30 percent each, and the package also incorporates annual increments for the years 2024 and 2025.

Haroon Akhtar Khan affirmed that the government will provide full financial support to ensure timely and transparent payments to all eligible employees. The majority of staff have voluntarily accepted the terms, reflecting confidence in the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare and dignity.

The USC relief measures are intended to stabilise affected households while the government implements all necessary steps to ensure fairness and accountability in disbursement, in line with the Prime Minister’s priority to protect workers during difficult times.
