Visa has unveiled Intelligent Commerce Connect in Pakistan, offering businesses a streamlined way to participate in AI-driven commerce as consumers increasingly rely on AI agents to shop on their behalf. The solution is positioned as a network, protocol and token vault-agnostic on ramp for agent builders, merchants and enablers, simplifying how the ecosystem connects and transacts.
Available through a single integration on the Visa Acceptance Platform, Intelligent Commerce Connect enables secure payment initiation, tokenization, spend controls and authentication to support agentic transactions. The platform allows agents to pay with both Visa and non-Visa cards, giving merchants and agent platforms more choice and lowering barriers to adoption for new agent-driven payment experiences.
The offering works with major network token providers so agent platforms can plug into existing credential infrastructure without vendor lock-in, and it supports acceptance of agent-initiated payments over established protocols such as Trusted Agent Protocol, Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). It also helps make merchant catalogs and product inventories discoverable on AI platforms, enabling consumers to find, compare and check out within an agent experience.
Visa is piloting the solution with select partners including Aldar, AWS, Diddo, Highnote, Mesh, Payabli and Sumvin, with broader rollouts planned later this year. The Visa Acceptance Platform can handle orchestration and PCI compliance for enablers processing agentic transactions on merchants’ behalf, easing technical and regulatory burdens for local fintechs and retailers in Pakistan. “From small businesses to the world’s biggest retailers, Visa powers how people pay every day, millions of times over,” said Leila Serhan, Senior Vice President & Group Country Manager for Visa in North Africa, Levant and Pakistan, noting that the solution brings trusted payment acceptance into the emerging world of AI-driven commerce.
For Pakistani merchants and technology providers, Intelligent Commerce Connect offers a practical path to participate in agentic commerce at scale, enabling secure, tokenized payments and broader discovery on AI platforms while reducing integration complexity through a single trusted connection on the Visa Acceptance Platform.
