Yasin Joyia appointed to two EBAA committees to boost eye donation and corneal transplant access, strengthening Pakistan's role in global eye banking.

Mr. Yasin Joyia, President of the Eye Donation Welfare Society, has been appointed to serve on the Donor, Partner and Community Relations Committee and the Member Value Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America for a two-year term. The appointment, announced from Lahore in June 2026, places a Pakistani eye banking leader on two key EBAA committees tasked with donor relations and member engagement.

This honour highlights Mr. Yasin Joyia’s long-standing work to promote eye donation and support corneal transplantation across Pakistan. He is one of just 164 members worldwide chosen to serve on EBAA committees, recognition that underscores his commitment to advancing eye banking standards and expanding access to sight-restoring treatments.

Throughout his tenure with the Eye Donation Welfare Society, Yasin Joyia has helped increase public awareness of eye donation, foster international partnerships and facilitate access to corneal transplantation for patients across the country. His efforts have contributed to broader opportunities for those affected by preventable corneal blindness and have raised Pakistan’s profile within the global eye banking community.
