A 50-member delegation from Suleman Law Associates visited Parliament House Islamabad on 9 February 2026 and was warmly received by officials of the Senate Secretariat upon arrival.
During the Senate visit the delegation was guided through the Senate Museum where Senator Fouzia Arshad provided a comprehensive briefing on the upper house’s procedures, functions, lawmaking process, methods of member selection and the role of standing committees. The senator explained how the Senate operates as a symbol of federation and how parliamentary processes advance solutions to public concerns.
Senator Fouzia Arshad encouraged the young professionals in the group to play an active role in national development, describing the next generation as a valuable national asset and urging them to contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
The visitors were shown a documentary film on the history of the upper house and expressed special interest in the museum’s collection of statues of eminent national figures and historical photographs that trace Pakistan’s parliamentary evolution.
The delegation also toured the Senate Hall and observed proceedings of a sitting, while Senate officials offered further explanations about parliamentary traditions and the chamber’s working methods. They were shown Gali-e-Dastoor and received additional context on Pakistan’s democratic development and institutional practices during the Senate visit.
At the end of the programme the members of the delegation joined Senator Fouzia Arshad for a group photograph and lauded the Senate Secretariat for its role in promoting democratic values, institutional transparency and strengthening the parliamentary system. Participants described the visit as highly informative and thanked the Secretariat for its support and guidance.
