Karachi – ABHI Microfinance Bank Limited has entered into a strategic agreement with EFU Life Assurance Ltd to broaden access to life insurance through the bank’s platform, aiming to integrate protection into everyday banking and expand insurance access for individuals and families across Pakistan.
Under the partnership, EFU Life Assurance Ltd will make its life insurance products available through ABHI Microfinance Bank channels so customers can obtain coverage alongside their existing financial services. ABHI will serve as the distribution partner while EFU Life remains responsible for underwriting, policy servicing and claims management.
The agreement sets out frameworks for product distribution, customer onboarding and service delivery designed to keep offerings transparent and aligned with regulatory requirements. Attention to data protection and responsible sales practices has been emphasised to safeguard customer interests and ensure clear delivery of benefits.
Both organisations will work together on staff training and customer awareness initiatives to promote understanding of insurance options and support smooth implementation. Ongoing operational coordination will help maintain consistent service delivery and efficient claims handling.
The pact was signed by Umer Rauf, Head of Transaction & Employee Banking at ABHI Microfinance Bank, and Muhammad Ali Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer at EFU Life Assurance Ltd, in the presence of senior representatives from both firms.
By combining ABHI’s outreach in microfinance with EFU Life’s underwriting and policy management expertise, the collaboration seeks to strengthen financial resilience and broaden life insurance access for underserved communities across Pakistan.
