A grand ceremony organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Brasília brought together diplomats, community leaders and Pakistani residents to mark one year of the Battle for Truth. The gathering included Ambassador Murad Ashraf Janjua, Defence Attaché Brigadier Tariq Naeem Athar, embassy officials, President of the Pakistani Community Zulfiqar Ahmad Maxi, businessmen Waqar Ahmad, Sharfat Ali, Amir Khan Kashmiri and Umar Gujjar, as well as students and a large number of Pakistanis living in Brazil.
The event opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem, setting a solemn and respectful tone as speakers reflected on the historical significance of the Battle for Truth. Remarks highlighted Pakistan’s defence achievements, the sacrifices of martyrs and the enduring spirit of national unity that continues to define the nation during testing times.
Ambassador Murad Ashraf Janjua praised overseas Pakistanis as true ambassadors who promote Pakistan’s positive image through their character and achievements, noting that events like this help maintain a strong link to national history and values. Defence Attaché Brigadier Tariq Naeem Athar paid tribute to the armed forces, affirming their role in safeguarding the country’s security and honoring the memory of national heroes.
Zulfiqar Ahmad Maxi expressed the Pakistani community’s steadfast solidarity with their homeland and said the lessons of the Battle for Truth reinforce unity, sacrifice and determination. Participants joined in national songs and raised enthusiastic slogans of Pakistan Zindabad, while special prayers were offered for peace, stability, progress and prosperity across Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded in a warm and patriotic atmosphere with a dinner reception where community members renewed their commitment to national unity and collaboration with the embassy. The embassy’s initiative to commemorate the Battle for Truth abroad reinforced the deep connection that overseas Pakistanis maintain with their country and its values.
